Random wire in battery box was created by adguy2112
Anyone know what the white wire with red stripe in/near the battery box on a 69 CT1 goes to? Service manual diagram is inconclusive. Daylight brake light isn’t working but fine on night switch. I don’t think this wire is the cause but can’t see what it connects to. Anyone?

Looking at the '69-'71 Factory Service Manual in the Tech Library, page 133 shows a CT1A wiring diagram, and a white/red wire as part of the stator wiring loom, that terminates...nowhere. Looks like it's a '69 only part of the stator, probably there for a non-USA market? Having never had a '69 CT1 I can't be sure but I'm sure someone who has/had a '69 will chime in with the answer, but looks like it's a not used wire.

I'm sure the answer is in the service manual electrical section
White/Red is "optional charging" and is connected to green on harness in place of green from stator for a higher battery charge rate.
Later CT1's had the same "optional" wire but it was green/red if I remember correctly.
And yes, normally not used. And if you do use it, you'll have a green not connected to anything.
