EDIT - with some of the replacement kits, the larger seal needs a small hole piercing in it.

I have rebuilt both the two piece and three piece caps (Which is yours? Looks like the unkeyed 72/73 cap? Always helps to tell us what you are working on rather than making us guess.), and they are somewhat difficult to do, but it seems to me there was a trick to it, especially with the small screws under and inside the cap. But as I say, I'll have to get back home and take a look at it again.
Did you take pictures as you disassembled it? Or was it apart when you got it?

We all changed our names to, " Mark T. "dwil4 wrote: Where are all the experts lately? Havent saw many of the old names from the other site at all on here. Maybe they have new names? I mean some of the old familiars I used to see all the time..

I've just had another look and it would appear that the CT2 and RD350 (which the photos were for) share the same three rubber parts, each commencing 308-.............Gr8uncleal wrote:
