UK, DT175MX 1980 White tank and mudguards was created by Steve Banks

Hi everyone.  I am in need of your help after spending a few hours trawling through various sites, and getting nowhere, to try and find out the correct name of the white paint on my mudguards is called and where to buy it.  My husband is trying to 'tidy it up' with a view to selling it so I'm hoping someone on this site will be able to help.
As I said in the subject, the mudguards are in need of re-painting but cannot find any info on the correct colour or one very similar.  If anyone out there knows, please be kind enough to let me know.
Very much appreciated.

A 1980 bike is a bit new for me!

However, if you can find a portion of paintwork, on a reasonably flat surface, that has been protected from the elements (ie it is as close to the original colour as possible), then your local auto paint shop should be able to scan and then produce a colour to match it. I've done this with three of my bikes (well, my mechanic has!) and all were very satisfactory.

Many thanks for your prompt reply and the much  appreciated info. I'm sure we'll find an auto shop near us and get them painted.  Cheers.

Mudguards on the 175MX models were self coloured plastic. No paint im afraid.

Looking through my literature, the tank paint is Yamaha Clean White.  Colour code 0036.

Thankyou so much for the info. Now i know they can't be painted, I'm going to get my cream cleaner on them. It's brilliant for so many things that it'll probably bring them up quite well. And thanks again for the paint info if he decides to repaint that.
Kind regards

The white fenders that came on some of the DT175 monoshock models were white plastic...  some models (1978-79 in the USA) did have white plastic fenders that came painted by Yamaha with the same (or very close) color to the fuel tank and side panels.

But not in Europe. Self coloured pp plastic only. From personal experience from scratching them back in the mists of time...

I was mostly responding to post #5....  My point was that the white fenders can be and were actually painted by Yamaha on some models sold in the US.

My original 1979 DT175 front and rear fenders (white plastic underneath, painted silver on top) were looking a little sad...  After a scuff and a coat of Rustoleum silver "suitable for plastics" rattle can spray paint, they looked great and it held up fine.

Perhaps it wouldn't be original, but the same could be done with white paint on models with white fenders.
