Wiseco piston circlip removal was created by AirborneSilva
How in the heck do you remove the circlip from a wiseco piston, there's no grove in the piston to get anything behind it and when I try to get a pick on the end of the circlip it just moves the clip around it's grove... Picture won't upload so I hope I've done a descent job of explaining my situation...

Haven't tried that yet

I'm thinking of cutting a grove into the side of the piston like others have, my Wossner piston I put into my DT2 has it, even wiseco pistons I see on youtube have it. I knew when I put the piston on it was going to be a problem

Was this an older Wiseco? Maybe "NOS" that someone added clips to?
Wiseco came with spirolox clips for quite a few years and then had the notch when they went to the wire clips as far as I remember.
I've seen pistons with wire clips in spirolox grooves and it's a pain.

Hi Mark, I put this piston in about 4 years ago, doesn't really have many miles on it so I just don't want to toss it out with the rod when I have that swapped out. I'm going to buy a good set of picks from Lowes today and see what I can do, if I have to use too many cuss words then I think I'm going to cut me a notch in it so I can get a pick under it. When I put it on I thought it was weird that it didn't have one but figured wiseco knows better - fooled me!

Yeah I was being factious. Not going to buy another wiseco, the wossner I put on my DT2 is a much better construction in my opinion, which means little...

It's possible that someone swapped clips if the piston kit wasn't new from the factory.
Using a tiny sharpened screwdriver or very sharp pick you can get under the clip near one of the ends... straight in at a steep angle near the end. You're trying to push clip inwards to start, not pry out. Have another tool handy to help when you get end out of the groove and against the pin... you can sometimes use both tools to push in and under end of clip... then one tool to hold and second tool to pry up end and bend the clip. Then it comes out pretty easy. You'll need a new clip but you shouldn't re-use anyway.

Was able to get the clip out, I think it's a spirolox as you mentioned Mark as it wasn't one continuous solid ring. With the good craftsman picks I got I was able to get enough under an edge to get it out, no cussing involved
