Hey guys,

I'm building a 74 dt250 for racing. In the process I will be losing the steel oil tank and I'd like to put a cover/number plate on the side to prevent the filter from getting covered after 10 seconds. Anyone know if the right side mx panel here will fit: www.dcvmx.com/xcart/product.php?productid=18538&cat=283&page=1

Or maybe some ideas of what you did? I'll be running just a standard uni-style foam filter right off the carb, just to give you an idea of space.  I guess I could just zip tie an oval number plate to the side or weld tabs with a nut on the back on the frame tubes a use bolts, but a little more refined would be nice.

Thanks for the guidance!

Mine are zip tied to the frame tubes. I run the same filter set up you described.

You may want to look into side plates for a 76 YZ 400. With a little trimming they may look and cover much better.
Question authority, think for yourself!
