CT3 throttle cable issue was created by Mitch_w

Hey y’all, I’m still working through the kinks on my CT3 I got a few months ago. I’ve rebuilt the bottom end, clutch, carb, brakes, tubes, tires and some other odds and ends so far.

The newest issue after finally getting the carb tuned the way I wanted was runaway throttle on my last startup. I thought it could be the slide sticking, but after taking out the slide from the carb I could tell it’s something further up the line because it gets stuck up near the top of the cap after turning the throttle.

I took off the grip to look at the cable and it looks pretty bent and frayed. Does anyone know how to repair this? Am I stuck buying a new cable or is there a way I can work around it? My first thought was snipping down the cable and soldering onto the end link, but wanted to see if anyone has a better idea.

Yeah, I was feeling a bit too ambitious today. For $20 it’s absolutely worth the piece of mind.
