Ive got the tube routed in front of the battery box and going straight down in between the gap of the swing arm. There was a little spot of white on one of the plates on the chain. I think while sitting on its kickstand it flowed out of the battery box and dripped in between the oil tank and the box. The majority of the spill went on the floor. I rinsed the bike and then rinsed again with a bucket of warm water and baking soda. I didnt see any evidence on the fender or the swingarm so I got lucky in that regard. Couldnt have been but a few ounces of acid as the one chamber is low but not even below the fill line. Made a mess on the concrete for sure.
Regarding getting a replacement.. I dont think I want this style of battery again. I like the thought of the gelcel style battery. Any info on getting one of those that will fit in my 1971 battery box would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again. Pat

The MotoBatt MBT6N4 won't fit in a '71 battery box. Need to install a battery box from a '72/'73. They pop up on eBay.
The hours spent riding my Enduros is not deducted from my life span.

This is a rare situation. Replace the defective part as if it were any other defective part.

Thanks for letting me know that. I was worried that maybe my DT1E was overcharging or some other phantom problem. I put another new battery similar to that one in this spring and it has worked just fine! Pat

Smells like an Exide battery.
The very worst.
