Price gouge rant was created by AirborneSilva

So I was on Partzilla looking for parts, 3 washers (2 different sizes) and 2 seals (one counter shaft one shift shaft) and they wanted $40 and change plus shipping, I thought I can get these cheaper at local Yamaha shop - boy was I wrong!!!  $75 and change for the exact same parts.  I'm all for supporting local business but if they are going to stick it to me then I'm sorry, I just can't justify that big of a difference AND I still had to wait for shipping.  End rant - as you were

If you have time, would you humour me and put the part numbers into fleabay.uk? I'd be interested in what price Fowlers show, compared to your dealers.

Fowlers supply wholesale to most of the UK dealers, but also retail to the public. I know that it is always cheaper buying retail from my local dealer than it is from Fowlers - some, but not all, of the difference will be Fowlers' postage cost.

My local dealer has an online parts catalog with pricing.  Last time I bought from them about 6 years ago, I looked up a part, it was like $4 and shown in stock.  So I drove down there and they did have it...  BUT they tried to charge me almost $9!  I told them it was only $4 on their website and after speaking to a manager they honored the lower price.  I was told they might not honor website pricing in-store in the future so I stopped buying there.

Same part was around $3 on Partzilla but I prefer RMATV-MC as they stock a lot and ship super fast.  Partzilla has been hot and cold for me over the years so I stopped buying there after the second time they shorted my order and never credited me for the missing part like they said they would..

Mark, I need to start shopping RMATV-MC more for these old bikes, I've bought some things for my T7 there, just bought a pair of riding boots there too.

Alan, I tried putting in part numbers on fleabay.uk and it wants to put in words instead, like I started typing in this part number (counter shaft seal), 93102-35109 and it put in "custom mini". Here's the other two part numbers 92990-08200 (2 of them), 90201-15797 (1of them), I already installed the shift shaft seal and threw away the bag.

Alan wrote "No idea what you were doing Tony, but links to my search results for Fowlers are shown below. I would pay a fair bit less than this from my local dealers."

Alan, even cheaper if you go to the Fowlers website, but you would have to pay for the postage, so probably more in total.
I have ordered from Fowlers and collected as I was in the area with no problems.
Tony, it's not often we in the UK are on the right side of parts pricing

I guess I’m lucky on my Yamaha parts the owner gives them to me at cost if I pay in cash all other parts ie auto, appliance etc I ask for Jobber if that doesn’t work I ask for Senior citizen discount
