Another bike we picked up recently. Someone decide to convert to premix. Parts on the way to revert back to oil pump. Had to solder the wire to capacitor and bike will start but has very little power and sounds rough. These run 40:1 right? Full throttle sounds like 1/4 throttle or less. Dies when releasing clutch into any gear other than neutral. Timing possibly?

They might run 40-1 via the oil pump if you could calculate it [or more like 50-1 or more. But think i'd run 30-1 using a modern oil for premix. None of that will be affecting your running. So lets get back to what's causing it to run terrible. Best plan [for us] is a good video with good audio if possible.
If i had to guess i'd guess at--exhaust blockage firstly.
Second guess flywheel key seeing you've had the flywheel off, which would determine timing.
Have seen rotary valves shear off in the drive & will run but very slowly [but that was yamaha]. Look forward to a video please, if possible.

I would look at the carb, these use a very small pilot jet. I think it's a 7.5. Make sure that little orifice isn't blocked up, this is a pretty common occurrence on these.

I'll have to check the carb. Went out to get a video and it wouldn't start so figured I'll check timing and clean carb. Oil pump and tank arrive tomorrow so hopefully the video will be of it running perfectly

Took a lil longer than expected but here is the video. Carb float was not attached by previous owner. Weird I didn't have overflow tho? Took carb apart and soaked with clean gas and re assembled new throttle/oil cable assembly just showed up at my buddies. Until then running premix. Still have same issue with power. This is the problem I was trying to explain tho. Hopefully helps

Also these marks will not stay lined up unless I hold it steady. The magnets try to send it to either side. Is this normal or should I find tdc myself and make my own marks
