What i have gathered from researching the person's estate which I got this and a few other ones is he had 2 yamaha dealerships in the 70's. I noticed the handlebars on a couple of them are very wide and have an added fork brace which leads me to think flat tracker. I would have thought a lower pipe was preferred. I concur with your assessment on the vin stamping. I will ck the intake manifold for number. The list of the other bikes I received are 71 HT1MX , 80 QT50 and a near perfect 62 YD3 which was hidden in dust. They gave me an extra 250 motor that was laying around which appears the crankcase has been replaced and no numbers stamped. The motor turns over and has an inner rotor magneto.
Would it be ok to add photos of the other bikes?

Absolutely post up pics of the others!

The inner rotor motor may be one of the MX versions which came with those stock.
IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

I know this is an old post but I have some engine stampings from Australia that look the same as the original post. The DT1F matching frame and engine was bought from the original owner and is the same style of number font. The second DT1F is a spare engine with the same font. Just found this interesting and thought I would add a note.
