    Just aquired a 74 360 't disengage. I assume I need a new cable but is there a way to see if the clutch is working at all if I were to disengage the cable at the handlebar so I can pull the cable with pliers to see if she'll disengage at all? Thank you.

Why are you "assuming" you need a new cable?  Generally, that's a pretty obvious yes or no.  

Seriously doubt you can pull clutch with pliers from the handlebar end even if the cable is good.

Maybe you could give a better description of the problem?  If you can pull the lever with resistance but clutch doesn't slip with lever pulled, probably just the plates stuck together which is very common after sitting a long while.  

Thank you for the reply! Did more checking this and the cable is pulling the lever all the way under the bike so, even though it may need a new cable, the clutch pack must be stuck. Gonna have to take the cover off and inspect. Thank you.

Put it in 2nd gear, pull in clutch and rock it back and forth vigorously until the bike moves freely. If it breaks the plates loose you've saved yourself the trouble of removing the side case. It's worked for me a few times, good luck.

If #pahiker's method doesn't work, try pulling the lever and then tying it to the 'bars and leave it for a couple of days.

If and when you replace the gearbox oil, make sure that you use oil suitable for wet clutches, otherwise you'll go from a bike with a stuck clutch, to one with a slipping one! 

If the bike runs you can try the method I've used which is start the bike up and roll forward so that you can click it into gear without stalling the engine. Then go for a ride while you work the throttle back and forth. That has freed up the stuck clutch plates every time I've done it. I think it was Morley RT325 that taught me that method. 

I would install a new clutch and oil. 

Where would I look for a new clutch pack? I've tried several places but all I've found is "Unavailable"...

I would try the suggested fixes first - they'll cost you nothing.

 

I think I ended up using raptor parts.   Hey it’s no fun and cost me around $32, but worked well. 

It is also possible you have a brand new clutch in there that needs release. Certainly Try that first.
