1983 Yamaha it175 NO SPARK after Sitting for 4 years.

Hey everyone! new to the forum so i hope one of you guys could help me out here. I'v got my hands on a it175 (1983) 
My neighbor had it in his garage for around 3-4 years ago, said it ran great strong spark, took it home tried to kick er over Nothing! no spark 
Can one of you guys help me out here please? im no electrical guy and id like to get it running asap, (im thinking its the kill switch is bugged up)

Just disconnect the kill switch and see if spark returns.  Should just unplug from harness...  might have to pull gas tank.

Welcome, might have to start testng a few things if kill swich isn't 'it'.--but hope it's that simple. Kill switch by memory just joins the black & black/white to stop the motor. Good model too, that one. think they reversed the motor with mag on the right side. If testing is needed i'd go straight to the source coil first. Of course after i've replaced half the bike in desperation it's just got a dirty plug!!--that's me.

Ill tell ya its a real headache doing electrical especially since 1 dirtbike needs like 10000 wires instead of it being one simple thing

Yes you did. Unhook them, Cheers. ps, i'm in NZ so bit far to come around for a look. I had an IT 200 for a while. Fun bike.
