POV ride around the block on my CT-1 was created by Tom P
I've been trying to find a way to video a ride, and I finally have a way to hang my cell phone around my neck. This was just an experiment to see how it would work out.

Well the engine is finally broken in. It was at 340 miles when I started working on it, now it's at 750 :0)
The funny thing is when I first tried it I had the screen of the phone facing/touching my shirt, and it kept turning off the video, so I had to turn it with the screen facing outward. What I didn't realize is that when you use the front camera it saves the video like a mirror image, so the video showed me riding on the left side of the road (not normal in America). I found there's a setting for the camera that you can stop it from saving it as a mirror image, and that's when I recorded the second video that I posted.
On the longest stretch I got to 60 MPH, and there was a lot of wind noise. I've had the bike up to 65, and I think that's about the limit. If I hadn't put a 17 tooth sprocket on the front, it might go a little faster by winding out more. As is, at 65 MPH it's doing 6500 RPM. However I like the 17 tooth sprocket better for riding around town.

Thanks for the video. Sounds like you went to a lot of trouble to get it to record & play correctly. Looked good but had to have it muted. Will watch again later. Thanks.

It wasn't a lot of trouble, I just wanted a way to record bike rides, and even hikes. I found a device on Amazon that goes around your neck and you can attach a cell phone or a GoPro to it, and it works pretty well.

Hanging it around your neck, definitely a better idea than my one handed riding on Salisbury Plain.

Actually one thing that inspired me to do this was a guy in a guitar forum I'm in, who has many high-end road bikes. He does the one-handed selfie riding with a camera, and even scoots back onto the passenger seat, riding with no hands to take videos and snapshots I like to keep my hands where they belong, on the handlebars :0)

Thanks for the ride along Tom! Your bike sounds great. You should treat yourself to some good riding gloves. Those fingertips are important to guitar players.

I've got plenty of calluses, also from working :0)
By the way I have old Scott grips on this bike that I purchased back in the mid-70s. I never liked the original grips, and I had these on the CT-1 I had back then, and kept them. They're still in good shape, and I like the way they feel. I do have the original mirrors, but the glass is shot so I bought those cheap oval ones off Amazon, but I kind of like them.

I wasn’t referring to hand and handgrip discomfort. I was referring to hands on the pavement discomfort. Calluses will lose that battle. I do like the vintage grips though.
