Cool tail bag for my CT-1 rack! was created by Tom P
I rode to a local vintage bike meetup last weekend, and realized that I need some place to carry things like a drink or snack. I don't like wearing a backpack, so I searched Amazon for tail bags, and focused in on this one, hoping it would fit my rack well. It just arrived, and actually fits better than I expected!
It comes with long straps, that could actually go around a seat, but I cut them down then melted the edges so they won't fray. It can expand up about 2" more, but I'll probably use it in the low position most of the time. I like that it doesn't impair me swinging my leg over the bike. It's inexpensive, and I don't know how long it'll last, but it seems fairly well made, and has nice zippers. Frankly, I don't think it would work well for off-road riding with heavy items inside, but for around town this should be perfect!

Thanks for the photos and the link. I made a rack for my SCR950 using a CT1 rack just like yours. I too bought a small bag to fit the rack, but it won’t hold as much as yours, and I paid considerably more for it….. I might grab one just to have a spare with more room when needed.

You did a great job of adapting the rack to your beautiful bike Schu. Again, I can't vouch for how rugged this bag is, but I just stuffed a medium weight jacket into it without expanding it, and it fits fine. It really is a nice fit on this CT-1 rack.

I am thinking this pack could double as a "buddy seat" with a few coats etc stuffed inside.

I was thinking the same thing, it would make a good buddy seat in a pinch. It fits on there pretty nicely, doesn't it? That velco flap on the bottom I put underneath the front bar on the rack, and it helps hold it down.

Great part lead Tom! Thanks for the tip. I bought three of them. Wife sends me to the store for single item shopping and this beats a backpack.
