Thanks for all of the replies. The bike came with an RT2 engine fitted ,when I  tried it it kicked back a few times till I got used to it so hopefully it wont be much worse. The RT1 engine does not have the cylinder decomp valve just the one in the head. So unless I can find the correct RT1 rotor & stator,  I will just have to use the FZA-IB-L set up, would I be correct in thinking that the same rotor & stator  are fitted to both dt 250 & rt 360 up to 1973 are the same. Sorry to be a bit long winded just trying to keep brain from going bang. Thanks again for all your help,  Alan.

All the 250's ( apart from very early 68's ) 68 -73 use the same rotor as an RT2 .
The 68 & 69 250 Stators were wired a bit differently , but 70 -73 Stators were the same as an RT2 .
The RT1 assembly is a bit of an orphan unfortunately .
There was one assy up on Ebay a week or two back .
Pity you didn't get onto this a bit earlier .

I bought that RT1B stator and flywheel that Swoop56 mentioned. I have 2 RT1Bs.

It looks good, send me a PM if you want it. I'll sell it for what I paid.

Found this pic of my advancing flywheel. If you look closely near the top half of the pic you can see how the face of the flywheel steps out a bit. Not flat sided like the others.
