DT100 Clutch Plate Variations?

DT100 Clutch Plate Variations? was created by msoar

Hi, just trying to get my head around the variations in clutch plates for DT100's.

For example, I have a DT100C or maybe D (MY 12/76 - Note: I think the tank sticker was different when we bought it new in 1977) and there are clutch plate kits that are advertised as 1976 to 1980 and others have different kits for a different range of  years. Then there is the ebay sellers that just lists the kit as for DT100, RX100, etc., with no year specified.

However, the parts schematic diagrams (eg: cmsnl...) list different part numbers for 1976-77 compared to 1978 onwards. Is there really a difference?

Does anyone know where to access a list of compatible models with the same or similar engine for parts?

There appears to be a difference in price and availability.

Kind regards.

The friction plates I bought for my CT1 from eBay claim they work on a 74 or 75 DT100, but when I typed in a 76 DT100 they say they don't fit. Searching other eBay sellers, they list 76 and 77, but they're more expensive. I find it hard to believe that Yamaha would have changed the plates just for a couple of years. If you could measure your plates, and post a picture of them, I could compare them to my old CT1 plates, and see if they're the same. Measure the diameter, number of notches, and the thickness.

I suspect they may have changed the part number, but not the plates.

Change the first X in the link below to an h and these are the ones I purchased.

Here's some measurements to check on your old friction plates to see if they match. By the way, the thickness of the new plates is 3.98 mm, this is one of my old ones. There are 10 tabs on the outside of the ring.
