Ahoy XT 200 J Owners.
Man, finding parts in South Africa is like searching for diamonds.
I need a replacement CDI. Can anyone help.
I'm currently busy rebuilding the bike as a bobber, and the rough look is great.

Welcome from NZ, no luck with a CDI but we have the same models here as you i believe. An old mate had an xt200 with cdi issues. Can't remember the outcome & cure [& he's no longer with us] but we borrowed a box & a stator from our friendly local bike wrecker, but think in the end it was just bad connections in the wiring from stator to loom & in the two wire block from the trigger coil. Small flimsy wires they are--guessing pink & white?. I used to work at the local Yam dealer & had another one with similar issues so borrowed a good running bike off a local to swap bits over [not a good idea that as can get confusing who's bits are who's haha]. Nearly always problems like 'that' are stator source coil or trigger coil related due to heat & vibration. What is yours doing--or not doing. We had a few TT250's back then stuffing the box where it'd run but not advance. Held back & the header pipe would glow red in the dark if you tried to rev it lol.
