1973 ct3 Yamaha 175 Kick Starter was created by osageorange8

My kickstarter wasnt popping back up so I pulled the side off and the spring wasnt on the pin. So I wound it back up and put it back together but now seems like a lot of slack until engagement

If it was ok before it'll be related to the friction clip 17 'Not' being in its guiding groove. It causes the gear to move out & engage. Likely its eventualy finding something to push on & doing it job, albeit a bit late. Hope i'm right.

I'll wright that again. Went all over when i put the pic up.

If it was ok before it'll be related to the friction clip 17 'Not' being in its guiding groove. It causes the gear to move out & engage. Likely its eventually finding something to push on & doing its gear tensioning job, albeit a bit late so lever engages further down. Hope i'm right.

On a CT3 you have the upgraded case and kick start assy if the lever is at the 10 o’clock position that’s about right if you go to the 12 o’clock position it will probably disengage the clip I’ve owned several CT’s
