Could the "8" actually be a "3"?
That would make it an RT1MX frame (same as the RT1).

of course...that is so obvious. I am going to go verify that 8/3 right now. I guess I got sidetracked with the excitement of the find. I will report back in about two hours with a closer inspection report. Thank you very much

Good eye Pete. It does look like a 3 to me also. '71 RT1MX is a rare bird. Looks like it has a '72 engine.

The Honda 3 wheeler is also a rare bird. Try to get that while you're there plus any other parts especially if they are from the '71 RT1MX.

yes, I am the original poster. I felt stupid for missing the proper vin so I thought that I could just delete the whole thread. Another rookie mistake. If anybody wants to see the pics just out of curiosity or interest I would be happy to repost.

Don't be embarrassed, I've made many mistakes like that. Let us know if you get the bike and parts. Plus that Honda 3 wheeler in the background is rare.
