1974 Yamaha DT125 fuel Line Size was created by 1975 DT125

Hello All,
Can anyone tell me the correct size for the fuel line that goes from the Fuel tank to the carburetor? I have purchased a 1/4 inch but that is to small. Someone is stating that I need the 5/16 ? Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks again.

I wasn't sure if it was 6mm though I thought it probably was 6 or maybe 7mm?  6mm is actually smaller than 1/4"... 7mm is only 0.025" bigger than 1/4".  I was surprised reading that 1/4" didn't work...  1/4" should be fine.  Certainly shouldn't be 8mm which is almost exactly 5/16"

There just isn't enough info to know what's going on here...  someone may have installed an aftermarket petcock or something?  Carb fitting would still be the smaller size though.  Maybe new line was marked wrong?  Who knows.  Pictures would be helpful or just buy bigger hose I guess.
