CT2 motor in an IT175 frame was created by dwil4

Anyone ever done this? I have a good CT2 motor  but the frame is not that great and I have a good IT frame that has a bad motor.  Just wondered how hard it would be to make it work

CT2 rear lower engine mount is much lower.

IT175 (assuming you mean 77-79) has a rear cradle that holds the rear of the engine so it might not be too hard to install.

Shift lever will be a couple inches farther forward.

If you can come up with a DT175 engine it should bolt right into the IT frame.

P.S.  What's wrong with the IT engine?

I had replied before you but it didn't post for some reason.  Anyway the IT is a1980 so it has right side sprockets.

A 1980 might be a lot of work.  Not too familiar with the right side sprocket models.

Unfortunately that was the year ('80) Yamaha updated the IT175G to the same chassis config as the YZ125G..... rightside drive. Without a whole lotta fabbin' and flippin' your CT2 power plant won't work. :(
Your motor will slot right into '73 and earlier 175 enduro frames OR up to '76 125 enduro frames (if you find a complete one...you'll have ta do a bit of wiring mods as they're 12v).
Good luck!
