So I've got Yamaha points and condenser coming from Partzilla and a RT2 condenser coming from retro motorcycle  / ebay. I think points are good in both bikes they both are getting a good amount of build up after a short time so I think both bike are needing condenser and I'll keep Yamaha points for spare.

Yes i just had this insignificant dilemma. I got a condenser from Al but managed to find some Japanese branded ones .
Next time i'll be mounting at the coil and use Honda branded ( or other ) that will work on the Yamaha System. I asked about Niche at the time .

I did something similar on a 400C. I bought what was supose to be a 250A stator to replace CDI and turned out to be a mystery stator. Although it fit and worked, the coils were visibly different and because it being a mystery stator I never knew or found correct condenser and always dealt with points arcing. A friend suggested adding a second condenser. I added another (from a 1965 mustang I was working on) at the coil and it did help. But as you are thinking I kinda learned a little bit about the Farad unit of measurement of how much a condenser can absorb or store. Long story short, I've also thought about condenser for another manufacturer bike but but the Farad thing comes to mind. Maybe it doesn't matter that much? Maybe I'm over thinking.
