Dry v wet cell was created by principal282

Coming to the conclusion the dry cell battery is not a good fit for a 73 enduro...if I read right, charging system can't keep up?
lots of poor performance issues and a battery that dies quickly..  could be related?
another thread in 72-73 details my struggles with this..  I did order a wet cell battery yuasa from a reputable supplier.  Need to find the electrolyte next

I have this in 5 of my regular riders. 2 are over 5 years old. Works very well. Many vendors on eBay.

Auto parts stores like O'Reillys and NAPA usually sell the battery acid for a couple bucks.

I've been really happy with that motobatt AGM battery too. Just beware if ordering from Amazon there is a significant chance they'll send the wrong size, happened 2/3 times to me.

I had the motobatt.
I think it fried.  I read in another thread the charging system can't keep up with the gel Batts.

Check your rectifier. Motobatt is a good battery and works fine

Don't forget that there are sealed, wet cell batteries, where you don't need to worry about purchase of the acid.

That is what I just put in my RT2... but with only 5 miles so far on it...
I did add a bit more foam to the bottom as the wires looked like they would rub on the tin box..

What Sneezles61 said is true. On some of mine I filed small notches in the sides of the battery box so the wires would clear.

New rectifier on the way.

Diode test indicated open on both sides. That may explain a few things...
