Holly crap!  People are asking (and getting), stupid prices for these old bikes.  They are going the way of classic Mopar's, i.e. too darn high in price for me to buy and enjoy!  Like someone else said, I'm glad I've got my 76 DT400!  Now I just need to get it running and restored so I can enjoy it...

I'm so disillusioned with eBay selling, the last 2 bikes I tried to sell, both sold, and both buyers were dead beats that refused to communicate. I'm done with selling my bikes on eBay. Even bid on a bike and WON it fair and square earlier this year, paid the required deposit and then got ghosted...nothing. Took until the bitter end for eBay to force the ahole to refund my deposit...all the while dude is still selling bikes and parts.

These DT400's selling for these stupid prices, IMO it's friends of the seller driving the price who "win" the auction, and bike gets relisted some time later with the seller claiming a "dead beat bidder" relisting. Hey I guess if it works for those dudes and their conscience, then so be it.

When I was working,  construction conferences went to online affairs ... I related them to "talking heads".. TV's on the wall..
I did not care for them..
And I have no intention of spending THAT kind of money on a picture and some words.. I've grown tired of the deceit and dishonesty of SOME peeps.. It has wrecked it for the honest lot of folks..
I'll lump them them in with the phone scammers too... lazy bunch of...

The used car market is going crazy right now. A friend of mine was offered $14,000 for a car that he paid $7000. Supposedly, China it’s making the chips for the control modules of the new vehicles ECM’s. And they’re not shipping them to the United States. Used cars prices are going crazy. I don’t think it’s worth it to sell because then you have another $4000 tax event, after you have made double your money on the vehicle. A couple of months ago it was brought to my attention that boats and motorhome RVs prices also we’re going through the roof.

Trying to stay on topic, these DT 400s that are selling for five figures right now, are mediocre at best.

eSlay has become horrendous in the last 10 years.

What goes up must come down.

Imagine... years ago, we are going to turn the bottom line into big number... by having more stuff done somewhere else way cheaper.. It has come to shoot us in the foot...
When the Metric bikes into the scene.. what late 50's? It wasn't to undermine.. it was another option... which got the US reeling on their heels, because our machining practices were antiquated... I like good competition like that... keeps yer eye on the game... I thank the Metric bikes for that... But now, knuckle heads playing these games... I can see a public flogging in order!! (clowning there)
