I'm looking  for the best method of removing the tach housing and gear from the engine ....

Ok, so i guess the parts in the pic are ones you've bought to put in?. So to remove the old one simply remove the small bolt & securing thingy. Then it'll pull out except the Oring might hold on so a bit of a turn & wriggle & it'll come out. Cable gear should come with it but be a bit careful incase it stays put but don't think it can drop in to the case, or not easily. To replace the drive gear then it's clutch cover off. Looking at Partzilla it shows two washers, No3. Also shows two circlip No2 which i wasn't aware they had so tread carefully.

Thanks RT ...  needed some penetrating oil and some effort but slotted straight out as I was removing one to put in another  ... thank you ...
