What carb specs for 1977 DT250? was created by mjf6866
Hi guys, can anyone tell me what model Mikuni goes on a 77 DT250? I might purchase one that is missing the carb and I can’t get concrete info on finding one one eBay or maybe another one that would work. If anyone has any pics of their up close that would really help me when I’m searching at swap meets. Thank you!

Last 28mm i bought still works ok on a 175.

Thanks for the link! To add to my confusion, I think I found that carb on Amazon but it doesn’t match up with the part number for the 77 DT250. Im always hesitant to buy those Chinese carbs for these bikes…have you had good luck with any?
then there is someone on eBay that says it’s for a 77 DT250, but had a flat two bolt mount style that goes up against the cylinder instead of the two cylindrical openings on either end.

This list is from an original Australasian Parts book , but should be pretty much the same as a US model .
Main Jet # 150
Slide cutaway 1.5
Needle jet N - 8
Needle 5DP33-3
Pilot jet # 50
Float Valve # 2.8
Compare with what you currently have in your carb .

Yeah to be honest the one i put on my 175 yamy i had to adapt a mikuni main jet but cant remember now if it was too rich or lean as delivered. For $16 i didn't really care.
The one i bought for the Honda was perfect jetted out of the box.
Bought one for an LT50 kids quad which was ok straight off. Maybe i just had a lucky run.

yes, the Mikuni VM 28 was also for the 250, that's good you had no issues with the AliExpress ones, but mjf, i would get one through ebay and or HVC Cycle.
good luck,
Scott
