77 dt100 dies when choke off was created by bdroie

Bike starts up great and runs fine with choke on but as soon as I push in the choke immediately it will rev up like crazy. So I adjust the throttle stop screw to lower the revs, but there’s no middle ground. Either the bike stalls out and dies or revs up insanely high.

Could be a major air leak like the left side crank seal popped mostly out on an angle but still covering most of the circle on the outer edge.
But my guess is problems in the carburetor. Blocked pilot jet [tiny little jet recessed up in the carb body.
Just carefully go through the carb jets, pilot & main, plus push the long needle jet out for a look.
Choke jet is down a cavity in the bowl & fixed in place.

For anyone reading this with the same problem in the future, make sure you clean your jets better than I did. Pilot jet was clogged. Thanks for your help yall
