folks,
latest on this project is this. rode the bike after the build and all is good, very happy with the potential of this barrel swap, however i am not happy with the bore size (+2mm now) as there is no supply of decent pistons now available, just a cheap chinese one which insists on rattling like a tin of rocks. So, the cylinder is off to PJME motorcycle engineers in the uk for a re-sleeve. they make and port their own liners so i am going to have them include a bridged inlet port and i will use an IT250 yamaha piston of standard size which i have and has the full skirt with windows, should shut the engine up and increase piston life.
i will report back when there is more info, and hopefully eventually a vid of it screaming down the road.
cheers
les.

me again,
barrel is back from being re-lined and is superb, with a bridged inlet port, new gen. yamaha it250 piston, bored to 1.5 thou.
should be quiet and long lived with the port bridge and full skirt piston. however it seems i cannot attach a pic.!!
i will build it back up at the weekend.
cheers

Don't get on here much, registered as i am going to be restoring my 1972 DT2-250
It was me who re-sleeved your cylinder, i did look at the base holes and wondered what it was going on.
Anyway glad you are happy with the job

Had a bit of false start on the DT, just going over it before tear down, got a new seat pan for it but for some reason it doesn’t fit so its gone back to a very very long Q of other projects.

Great project, very impressive.
+1 on PJME doing great work and in my view for a fair price.
They rebuilt my CT3 crank and reground the crank seal area to take a smaller seal as the surface was corroded.
I know Shyted uses them too.
