Good Price for a 73 CT3?? was created by 71-yamahaRob

Hi, I have an opportunity to purchase a 1973 CT3 in gold, was wondering what a fair price was for the bike? The owner says he has put a new fender and brackets, rear wheel spokes and tire, petcock, headlight, battery, fuel lines, fuel filter, sprocket and chain. Also new Taillight assembly and new shift lever. Bike is titled, with about 3k miles. The paint on frame and tank/ bucket etc are in good shape, but fenders and some other black and silver parts have been powder coated. Any insight appreciated, and quick replies are greatly! Would like to get back to him asap.
Thanks for the help!,

Location? In California I’d expect to see it listed at 3-3.5k but probably sell in the 2-3k range.

Whoa. For $500 I would leave work, skip dinner, and snap it up.

I couldn’t even play this game at California prices…..

I’m hoping to find one in the $1,200 range.

It is specifically in Michigan- schu, where do you live to find one of these for 1200? And Dave, how about you for 500?

He wants 2850 for it- do you guys consider that reasonable even though he’s done no work on the engine? Only spark plug and oil change. Original paint on the tins, he says paint is a 9/10

I live in Michigan. I thought I had seen that photo. It was quite some time ago though. Didn’t know it was still on the market. I believe that guy is selling off his collection, because he had others listed that were also very nice. I can’t afford bikes in that condition. My hopes are to just find one that runs……

I paid $1200 for my CT3 4 or 5 months ago in Minneapolis. Nowhere near that condition. I think his price is reasonable as it appears that it will need nothing but turn signals. I have been looking for something like that, would like to have a nice original as opposed to restored. They are only original once.

Cheers
