Carb top gasket was created by hackman101

It is called the "mixing chamber top" on Partzilla, I have a gasket there that is rather hard. There are other parts like the carb mount and the breather box tube/connector that is at the rear of the carb I am going to treat with wintergreen, along with a few other small parts.

I would like to include this gasket, but I have no idea if it is supposed to be softer or not. For now the gasket is so rigid, if I bent it even a little, I feel as it would snap. Does anybody out there have any insight how flexible or soft this gasket is supposed to be?  I also need to mention, the gasket is not even in the parts diagram. The gasket I have is under part number 27. It is a flat washer/gasket that sets on top of the carb body and the mixing chamber top screws down on top of it.

Originally it was soft and flexible.

What I have done in the past with the old, stiff, cracked gaskets is to make one out of an old inner tube until you can find one. Sudco probably stocks them I would assume.

Can you measure the outside diameter?  I can see if I can find one.

I just checked the Sudco website, at first glance, its pretty impressive what they have on hand. Their drawing shows the gasket whereas the Yamaha drawing does not. Now just to find which carb I have. I do believe that the info is on this forum someplace.

Took no time to find it it is a VM30SC.This is a great site!!

It just so happens I have a 40 year old tube that may do the trick, if a proper one does not turn up.

@Mark T, the outer dimension is 40mm or 1-9/16" with a 1/4" width to the inside

I also looked over the Sudco website a little closer, they do not sell to the public, only dealers. There are a list of dealers for the NW USA, by the name of some of them, they appear to cater to other carb types.
