DT2 piston was created by AirborneSilva
Hi guys, are DT2 and DT2MX pistons interchangeable? I have a standard bore that is making quite a bit of noise, some very strange and scary. Thanks for the replies.

I found this piston/ring set on ebay but they mention about measuring wrist pin, are they not all standard?
"
"
IMPORTANT NOTE!
the wrist pin height is 33mm = center of wrist pin hole to top edge of piston*
* ( since the wrist pin hole is 18mm just measure to the edge of the hole and add 9mm )"

18mm sounds big for a 250 pin but i see it shows that in the pic so my memory needs updating. Kit looks great & so long as ring pins are inbetween the transfers & boost port then what can go wrong.

Thank you RT325, I did send the seller a message, he said it does fit correctly so I'm not sure why he has to put that in the ad. I'm going to order that today along with wrist pin bearing.

He's talking wrist pin height. Yamaha did all kinds of goofy things with rod length on the 250 and up models... and sometimes they moved the pin location up or down in the piston. There are certainly "hacked" engines out there with non-standard length rods where someone might have fitted a piston from a different model to get the deck height right or close to right. Seller probably got burned by someone that had a "mix and match" engine. I appreciate sellers that list specs and dimensions like this one did.

I think its 1.50mm oversize. What size is your cylinder. If i'm right & you want to go out that far then no worries.
I just googled the number on the piston & had a few false starts but think i nailed it. Was mistaking the D for a P before the 150. Gudgeon says 18x13x56.2

Well that's what you get for following me

Thanks I hope it quiets my top end. After reading that the piston skirt can break off and destroy the whole motor I'm afraid to ride it!
