Just about finished my GT80 restoration and I can't seem to find a couple of values...

Steering Stem torque values - I need to know how tight to tighten the castle nut as well as the nut on the very top of the assembly.

Oil types - I see the owners manual says SAE 10W30 SE Type for the crankcase/transmission but it's not super clear what type oil to put in the side tank. The closest I can see is 2-cycle air cooled engine oil. Is that correct?

Thanks so much!
Mike

You're probably not going to find 10w30 SE...  modern car oils are now "energy conserving" and have slippery additives that may not play well with the clutch.

Many choices though... look for a motorcycle oil that is rated for wet clutches.  It will say it right on the bottle and/or have a JASO MA rating.  Many are 10w40 which many use.  You can also use a "boutique" specialty motorcycle transmission oil, again rated for wet clutches.

Yes, two stroke injector oil for the tank.

Not sure there is a torque spec for the steering, certainly not the castle nut which is adjusted more by "feel".  Tight enough to remove play, not so tight that steering is stiff (or way too tight may damage balls and races).  Then the other nut is a lock nut.
