And a few words of wisdom from some of us who've been there already!!
That's a nice new trail bike you' ve just bought for yourself. You're planning on having yourself a blast with it, aren't you? Maybe youve already read all the stories and seen all the pictures about the jollies of dirt riding. You know all about the challenges of riding in the rough, in the woods, over the mountains, through desert and field.
U11less you' ve already been this way before, as we have, you don't realize that there are things about the sport that you didn't see in \.\1hat you read. Sure, you know how to ride the bike, and maybe you've tried the dirt on occasion. But there's more to it than meets the eye in one of those geewhiz reports. You need to learn about these if you're going to have fun without a lot of hassle.
We' ve undertaken to pass on to you the experience of twenty years of dirt riding, thousands and thousands of miles on the trails, exploring, competing, just fun riding. We'd like to help you get the rightstart in our sport.
Yes, it's our sport, for we've come to love this game, and want to keep on enjoying it. Our own self interest compels us to tell you how it really is, because we don't need thousands of heedless, inexperienced new riders invading the countryside where once only a few of us shared the trails with traditional users.
Thousands of informed, considerate trail riders can tind places to ride, so be considerate and informed, we'll all have a better time.
