Just to help others "if" your like me and like doing stuff yourself please make sure you use rubber suitable for petrol lol....
I made this seal which took a few minutes and fitted good, sadly it dissolved over a short period of time
see attached pictures :) bit annoying paying £13 for something so small, I have found some Nitrile rubber sheet on eBay for £1.30 so might order some and make some seals if I get bored...

Am I right thinking the new seal is 2.0mm thick ?

That's good stuff, I've bought sheets several different thicknesses, made washers, mud flaps, pad under gas tanks.
