Anybody ever seen a set of 74 75 vintage mx250 forks with fox forx air mods by Steve Simons?
What might set like this be worth?

That could be interesting. I wonder what's inside. I tried that trick on my "75 MX250B in 1975 by just taking the springs out & fitting valves & by memory i needed to run 35psi. Whatever, i didn't like it so went back to springs. Then of course the next year arrived with air bags on top of the forks from new but in the end i took them off & fitted springs anyway. Stupid looking things they were sitting up there like a speedo & tacho lol. Well--Could poke ya eye out doing a handstand out of control. Actualy in hindsight on the "75 i should have tried lighter oil as think the pressure probably gave the oil more damping effect--i dunno. Were just very harsh.

If they were Simons forks they would be worth at least $1,700. That's what I just sold a set for. If yours have more than 7 inches of travel they couldn't be used for AHRMA racing, that would be the determining factor. They might be worth 3-4 hundred bucks to the right person. I have some sets of Terry fork damping rods I can't get 100 bucks for them. You never know.

I sent you a PM.

From what i can see in the pics the forks look original "75 MX250B so just wondering if you've had them apart. Has it got springs & just air caps added, which was the rage back then, or are they running air & no springs. Caps don't look original so has the previous owner just fitted fox air caps still with springs & put a Fox sticker on it. Man we all wanted Fox rear shocks back then but needed a good paying job to afford them, & some riders had parents with bottomless pockets of money.

As early as they are they are likely just air mod not full air.
