vintage mx build threads was created by Storbeck

I'm looking for any good vintage mx build threads or people sharing info about their projects, specifically twin shock 74/75 yz or MX but anything similar (maybe an elsinore, or whatever) would be of interest. I'm a little surprised I'm not finding much in my searching.

Would be super awesome if anybody is sharing stuff like porting details or suspension details (what forks or shocks they're swapping or internal mods (gold valves?) lengths or spring rates/sag, that sort of thing), but I can understand that some people don't want to share their hard earned info.

Even less secret stuff like what pegs work or seats handlbars/controls/cables or stuff that needs to be reinforced, things like that would be great.

Can anybody point me toward anything?

 from the UK.

I've not checked myself, but there might be something in the "Restorations" or "Customs"  sections (click on the "Forums" button above to get the full menu).

Most things on here are about restoring old Yams back to better than factory but not modified as such. Restorations are a bit out of my range of ability with my rat bikes but love looking at the work. Talking YZ & MX from the years you mentioned, i had all those 'New' back in the day. But never modded them & just raced them out of the box. Here's a pic i found of leading an SC500 & RN400 albeit briefly haha on my MX250. Be good to see your build sometime please.

There are several Facebook groups for vintage Yamaha MX and YZ. Here is one for example.

Thats such a cool pic RT325!  im going to turn my 74 DT250 into an MX next year. Paid $50 for it, missing top end which i have a stock one somewhere here in a box, got a 75 MX pipe, a 73 MX carb and a 74 MX gas tank. Very anxious to see how it will perform but shes gotta wait her turn.

I really hate facebook for stuff like this, but I guess if that's where the people are that's where I have to go. I joined that group and I'll look around for more.

Facebook is about the worst possible way to archive info, on top of my general distaste for facebook, so I hate to see people going on there rather than a forum.

It's about all I use facebook for. I do buy and sell things on FB Marketplace. I just bought a 76 yz125x off of marketplace and have bought and sold parts too.
