Piston ring interchanging #1
Another Yamaha newbe here. Can some tell me if mid 70s YZ400 cc rings will work on the same vintage and bore of a DT400cc?

Thanks

Check part numbers on Partzilla or similar site .
If they don't match , then probably not .

Piston ring interchanging #3
Welcome. Answer is, i don't know. Both will be 85mm or whatever oversize it is, & i'm pretty certain a YZ piston kit will work in a DT400 But so far as using rings of one onto the other the numbers are so far apart that i doubt they're a match. I had a YZ499D piston kit sitting on the shelf for many years & was a nice strong piston & well reinforces around the inner edge of the cutaway. I tried using it in my RT2MX 80mm cylinder but the fins nearly fell of boring it out that far--so was 'A Fail' lol.
