I definitely needed a modern street legal bike with an electric start since I turn 65 in a couple of weeks so I bought myself an early birthday present a KTM 500 EXC-W. We only have a couple of motorcycle dealers here in Flagstaff and GO AZ only has a few street legal bikes and clearly it was between the Honda 450 and the KTM. The Honda weighs about 35 pounds more and was only a few hundred dollars less so I bought the KTM, I have not been disappointed. Today I left the house and did a 14 mile loop with about 5 miles on dirt and lots of whoops and fast roads.

The MR250 is still in progress, it is up on my motorcycle work stand right now. I have the taillight and speedometer mounted and the headlight and control switch are almost done, I will still ride it, but it is hard to get past 11 inches of travel on each end and an electric start.

Picture just a few miles from home attached.

Nice Mike congrats , and happy birthday.

Those bikes are so tall, .......
-you’ll get a nose bleed
-might snow on the top of your helmet
-you can see the curvature of the earth
-You’ll have time to open your parachute
-you’ll bump your head on the moon
Thanks Mark

Love it Mark. I hope you get over here. We LOVE it here.

The KTM is really high. I have ordered a 3/4 inch lower seat already; it is as much the height as the density. I thought my old Husqvarna SM610 seat was bad/hard, but the KTM is worse.

I am almost certain I will come for the EnduroFest next year if we don't all die of Covid/fires. I hope to see you and the Bultaco again.
