Hi All,
Looking to purchase some parts for a 1971 CT1. In need of a Main Ignition switch with keys and the secondary coil with mount. Also could use a good air cleaner joint and air filter. If you have and want to sell please contact me. Parts must be in good usable condition. Thank you.

You might want to post up the wires your switch has...  Yamaha seemed to have variations in the early years.

Mark,

The switch is missing on the bike. Here is the 2 connectors that it plugs into on the harness.

The switch is 1 year only, If you can find a used one send it to Deet for repair.

Looks to be the same a s a 72-73 CT switch according to part number and connector style? ( pictures)  This is a late model 71 CT1. I could be wrong though.

Now i am wonder what style coil came on this bike? It's missing too. I see they changed this in 72 and 73.

I have an original, unrestored '71 CT1. It was in a basement for 37 years before I got it. Had 580 miles on it. Appears to have had no work done to it. Let me know if you need any pictures. Also FYI I ended up with that unbelievable '73 RT3 that you restored of which I believe that's the engine in your avatar.

Hi Bill,

Yes you are correct. Glad to see your still active on this site. If you have time, pictures would be a great help. I have not worked on one of these CT1's in a long long time. Picture under fuel tank on the left side of bike of the coil and ignition wire connectors (should be close there) would be a big help. Does yours have 1 or 2 connectors? also back under the seat ( battery) area  would be nice too.

I appreciate it!  You did sell me some parts for a 72 DT250 a few years back. i think it was a front fender and mounts.

thanks again.

, but have you checked in the VIN tables to confirm that it is a CT1 and not a CT2 - does the engine have the reed valve, does the tank have stickers or badges?

From what I have seen, the CT2/3 shares the same main/ignition switch as the DT2/3 and RT2/3, with the only difference being a 4 pin block connector instead of individual wires (DEET etc, please correct me if I'm wrong). They are still quite hard to come by, mind.
