Iv been waiting a few years to get my own MT-07 but I've been reading about the XSR700 recently and between the 2 bikes the only difference really is the design style. They are both around the same price now for 2019. Has anyone taken a ride on the XSR700? I'm only leaning towards it on design preference.

For some reason I can’t stand a no reply post in any of the forums I’ve joined.
Wish I could say I was the kid in school that went up to the new kid in class that was lost and helped em out. But I wasn’t at that time, at that time I was always the new lost kid. My family moved a lot.
I have two long lasting friendships because of guys seeing I was confused and offering to help instead of making fun of me.
I just googled XSR 700 and it looks cool but you are in the wrong forum for this question, this place is focused on 60s and 70s Yamaha enduros.
Have a good one friend.

It kind of looked like a spam post to me... first time post about modern bikes plus links to unrelated topics embedded in the post... Surprised it wasn't deleted by moderators?

Yes, I would not have hit a link, but I almost bit on the topic because I have a FZ-09 which I love, but asking about an MT-07 vs an XSR700 really did not make sense to me. Style is not in my wheelhouse on buying a bike, it either fits my riding style or not.
