I made a chain guard out of ABS plastic. Bought a sheet from Taps Plastic for $3.95, beats the heck out paying $170 for new one.

Nope. I'm saying it really came out nice! Great job!

The skills of people like you on this forum really amaze me... I wouldn't have thought anyone could make a nice replacement out of plastic like you did.

Yes the skills of people on this forum spur me on to get more involved . Give me loads of ideas.
That chain guard looks mint !
My wife didn't understand how i can get so involved with restoring or bikes in general.I feel it's like medatation.
You can see the results coming through and befor ya know it ,the finished item ( what you had in your mind) is there before you.
Dave.

I know what mean, its satisfying bring bikes that might be destined for parts, back on the road. My wife wants the bikes separated, she thinks they're reproducing.

Well I dodge a bullet, my trip to the CHP for a vin check went well. The following is a mistake that will be avoided in the future, purchasing a bike on eBay without doing extensive homework.
After buying MarkT point out the frame vin number was off by a letter, Bultaco uses letter "M" for engine and "B" for frame. The engine and the frame numbers were the same. The frame was replaced and re-stamped, long story short the officer didn't question it. He did come out and ask me what the model was and how I knew what year it was, I explained that to him and he excepted it. He never seen a Bultaco before and Im sure there is little info on the bike.

Here is a Motorcycle ID book I found online, good future reference. Its probably what MarkT found.

The B stands for Bastidor which in Spanish is " frame ".. you need to get the Bultaco bible I mentioned to you before

I've been watching, wondering what's going on with the Bultaco. The chain guard is pretty awesome. Is it running, have you taken it for a ride yet? Enquiring minds want to know.......
