Prepping the tank for painting end of the week, low 80's so perfect temp. Lining the tank today, Caswell has always worked well for me.
One thing nice about a fiberglass tank is no rust or dents, just a few spots that need to be filled.

Did some side cover repair, covers are plastic, fiberglass worked well for the fix.

Its paint day, wish me success.

Paint days always make me nervous. I just keep telling myself DON'T SCREW UP! Good luck!

Thanks Kenny,
I must have gotten some good karma, paint came out good. A couple small runs, but I'm not entering the bike in the Quail Motorcycle Gathering, so I'm ok with it. Plus in only cost me about $100, I painted with Preval and shot clear with my Harbor Freight gun. I forgot how slow it is painting with Preval, but it works good, I feel shooting clear you need a gun, puts out more.. The other alternative is 2K clear, thats real convenient, but I have a gun so used it.

This rendition is great too, Stevie Ray and Albert King. Albert king played left handed but the guitar was strung for a right handed guitar.
In other words the high strings were on the top.

Got side covers done, I had to match the yellow gas tank decal. With paint that never got used for my yellow MX250 and some leftover red from a project, I got the color real close.
Plus I had to freehand the yellow and trim with black pin stripe tape. The original pin stripe and yellow on the tank were hand painted.
