Hello Mdscott. You can get the dents out by the method you said with the aid of a kit designed for the job. They're on e bay. Or tack a bolt on ,get a slide hammer on the job ,heat it up and give it a swift precise tug. Bobs yer uncle.
You think that's got a weighty standard pipe. I almost had a prolapse when i lifted my light weight TDR 250 spannies up.
Hell fire,they weigh a ton.

Thaks, I will be doing that eventually, the pipe is double walled so external dents don't effect the expansion chamber. right now need to get a few things ready for cal dreamin.
Another suggestion was corking the ends and applying air pressure with heat.

Got the aftermarket pipe on, burnt off the spark arrester screen, it was completely plugged. Saving about 7 lbs over stock pipe, think I’ll go by some donuts. :Coffee

I scored a 1976 Frontera swing arm.
75 no side stand
76 the moved the rear shock back about 28mm, to keep shock from moving forward in compressed position.
76 better swing arm support.

Nice Putt! Never rode a 360, spent 1/2 day on a 250 Pursang when it was a year or two new, he rode my yam 360, liked it alot but I could barely afford a new Yamaha every couple years! I'm gonna back-trak updates on this bike, nice!

Thanks,
riding a Pursang is what made me decide to sell my Yamaha SC500 and buy a Bultaco, it was so light and nimble.
