It’s 1982 and I’ve driven over an hour in my 57 ford F100 without diffost coase the ducts are literally dropping in chucks at my feet and I’m wiping the windshield with a rag
I get to the track at 630 and suit up , riders meeting at 7 , practice at 730.
I’m on the line pinned in first feathering the clutch waiting for the gate to drop at 9
What do I remember most?
The SMELL!
That castor oil smell
But my current 2 strokes aren’t premixed there injection and I don’t run them enough to deal with the hassle of the castor based oil falling out of suspension and cousing problems
After more internet research then it should take I found this!
Blendzall 455 castor based injector oil
I just put it in my JT1 and filled my garage with wonderful and totally toxic smoke!

My life is a hilarious series of wrong turns, and to quote bugs bunny “I should have taken a left at Albuquerque!”

We even used to put it in our car fuel tank when we were young & drive around town smelling the place out on a Friday might. We had late shopping till 9pm friday. The good old days in [NZ]. I also remember running it through the pump on my GYT kitted DT1 & running the bike on Methanol. But the methanol would make the anodized throttle slide stick on cold days. So had to mix the fuel in the end but then had to contend with it going cloudy & settling out. Had to add something [accetone"]. Was a long time ago haha--damn near 50 years. The Methanol or Alky as we called it was a Shell product, purple color. The oil was Shell also--Shell Super Heavy [like castrol R] Later in the YZ125 i used Castrol MSSR to mix with the Alky--didn't have cold weather problems with that. Memories.

Throughout my teens I raced go karts competively and after school I worked at the local kart shop fixing customers mini bikes, mopeds and karts while getting my race karts ready for the next race weekend. We were the first US distributor for the Yamaha Kart and their 100cc 2-stroke motors. We had a 55gallon drum of Methanol in the shop as this was thei fuel of choice mixed with Castor Oil. I miss those days at the track with 20+ karts burning this mixture....
