Well.... how about a new twist for me and posting here....

I have documented/talked about my bikes in detail here and it was suggested I start a thread on a very cool- Vintage- From the 70's- was every young man's dream to own one back in the day!

No- not talking about our beloved 2 stroke Yamaha Enduro's but a 1976 Jeep CJ5!

Will start to tell the story here next but here are the shots of the day she came home a couple of weeks ago for a complete tear down and resto project- She will be pretty again one day soon!

Just a quick update on the CJ5 restoration project-

Old Body is off- Power Washed everything down and now will start on the frame restoration- continued clean up and apply KBS coating in satin black.

Once that is completed- new fuel tank- lines- leaf springs- shocks etc. All new Body Tub, fenders, hood and windshield frame will be ordered.

Sorting all the wires out now! :)

Thanks buddy- the old CJ's are so cool- they are becoming more valuable for sure.

Yeah it is moving right along. Cannot wait to get the rolling chasis all updated and painted then the fun part will start in installing all new metal parts.

Planing on doing my own painting and will be going with the 1979 Silver Anniversary look! so been reading up on good spray guns and painting techniques- will be fun.

Here is the vision I have for mine-

There is something special about those old Jeeps. If you put half as much attention into the 5 as some of the bike builds I've seen, it will be drop dead gorgeous!

As a Jeeper myself (I have 6 of them...) I will be keeping a close watch on your progress.

The frame on your 5 looks great!
