So I bought what I think is a '72 AT2 last summer and had a lot of issue figuring out what exactly it was and just wanted to know if there is any way to be sure that I'm calling it the right thing?

Also if anyone knows where I can find a set of rear shocks that would be incredible. I've been looking cause mine are bent to hell and everything I find is either expensive as hell or worse than mine

Nice bike!

Always worth checking the VIN number(s) against the tables... many bikes have had tanks swapped and can look like a different model... or engine VIN might not match the frame... On a US AT2 a 125 engine from 1969 to 1976 could be installed.
1963 YG1-T, 1965 MG1-T, Allstate 250, 1970 CT1b, 1971 R5, 1973 AT3MX, 1974 TS400L, 1975 RD350, 1976 DT175C, 1976 Husqvarna 250CR, 1981 DT175G, 1988 DT50, 1990 "Super" DT50, 1991 RT180, 2017 XT250

"On a US AT2 a 125 engine from 1969 to 1976 could be installed."

And possibly 175 engine, or even just 175 parts. As well as the engine number, check the cc cast into the outside of the bottom of the cylinder.

What was sold to me as a 125cc bike was actually a 1971 CT1 frame, 1969 AT1 engine casings, but CT1 cylinder.
