Yamaha clamp on mirror sizes question. was created by Gr8uncleal

I've been slowly picking up original Yamaha mirrors as and when I can for my R5 and smaller capacity RDs, all of which have a drum front brake and the type of mirrors that are clamped on to the handlebars.

I have picked one up from Germany that is quite a bit bigger than all of my other ones and I was wondering if maybe some of the bigger capacity bikes might have had something like this fitted (eg TX, XS1 etc)? It has the Yamaha and Toyo logos and is not the really weird clamp on type. I guess there's a chance that Europe/Germany had to have larger mirrors?

Thanks for any help given.

Hi gr8uncleal
after my recent DS7 I moved onto an R5 which is really coming along nicely and is going to be really cool
I have what I believe is a stock clamp on mirror in pretty decent shape after time in evaporust that I am not going to use, so message me if you want it

At the right price, and if the postage isn't prohibitive, then I could be tempted.

I had some brown gooo dropping on my stack of usps large flat rate boxes and finally realized it’s from the mirror that I had soaking in evaporust!  Will try to attach pics but basically the mirror glass which was perfect is now clear and filled with evaporust goo

That's a different style of mirror than the ones I have - mine have M10 threaded ends.

Is that fitment at the handlebar end removable or fixed?

Sorry, I meant the threaded shaft thingy!

Edit

Just had a look at a very similar mirror I picked up recently (no Yamaha logo) and it looks like it is held in place by a short M5 or M6 stud, with a recess that takes what appears to be a 2.5mm, or thereabouts, allen key.

What is the postage cost to the UK, USPS First Class, for the whole mirror and clamp etc?
