RX125. I've been at it again!! was created by RT325

Second RX125 i was going to ignore but it the got the better of me so had to give it a go--nothing to lose. Pics coming tomorrow but pretty much a re-run of the first one although even more difficult. Just to show how strong yamy pistons are i had to drive it out with an even bigger sledge hammer than the first one. I had a steel block then a fork leg & a sledge giving it about 100 hits with about a mm movement each hit. Had to block the cylinder up as the piston hung on until the last little but. Heated piston on the bench to almost dripping & tapped the rings free then peeled them of with a feeler blade. Gave them a scratch top & bottom & hacksaw in the grooves./ Coarse emery spinning in the bore & looked like new [yeah rite lol]. No base gasket so just cleaned up & used some $2 shop gasket silicone stuff. Stupid me getting carried away tried starting it without the reed block, just a big open hole & it actually fired up & blew a cup of oil out the open inlet as had filled the case with oil for a week & couldn't get it all out. Had revolved it full of oil with a stretchy cord on the conrod & spun it quite fast until it. I' just poured petrol straight down the open inlet not thinking & it fired & ran for a bit spewing oil out the inlet. So reed block in & more petrol & it took of & went to high revs with me sticking my thumb in the inlet & it tried to suck my rubber glove in. So had a cork to bung it & quickly stop it. Had me hearing aids on & damn near killed me it did, still hurting lol. So carburettor, [which was equal to the worst], i cleaned up, prodded & poked & fitted on & she runs sweet. Goes through the gears ok on the bench. Had to trap a big washer between the exhaust header & the port with a small hole in the middle as neighbors had come home from work--was too loud anyway straight out the port. Runs sweet but gonna be a problem to actually ride but might get it to that stage in the end., Can't believe how much beating that piston took & came still out smiling.

Unbelievable. I think you could make a bucket of bolts run.

Took a few pics with my cell phone if they turn out, & the rear rim is rusted right through for an area between the spoke nipples & edge of the rim & can see the tube--still holding air too. Gave it a poke with the rounded end of my steel ruler just to be sure. Crazy really & never seen anything quite so bad. Although come to think--i was given an IT250L "84 once that had the front down tube rotted right through like Swiss Cheese. Alloy swinging arm was still good to go.
