Front mount hitch was created by Roadking

Hello guys and gals, gotta nagging question about mounting bike on truck. Been thinking about putting a bike rack on the back of my 5th wheel but am nervous about the amount of movement out back. 30 foot trailer and will take some modifications to make hitch fit. So I’m looking into a mount for front of truck. I know Mark has this setup and I’m sure others do also. I see there are two styles,  one comes out below bumper and one comes out through the license plate mount.
Anyone have advice in this area? Want to take the xt250 with me as securely as possible I drive a 2011 Chevy Duramax. Thanks for any help or advice. Mike

I've never done it but I'd have a front receiver-type trailer hitch installed.  Then use one of those racks that slide into the receiver.  Bonus is if you ever need to get a trailer into a tight spot, front hitch makes a nearly impossible task easy.

But probably best to hear from someone that has one.

I have not done it either. From everything I researched with my trailer the frames are not made to take that kind of weight and leverage, so I think you're on the right track with a front rack.

My trailer should be ok with the weight, barely, but there is a lot of movement back there. Can only imagine the stresses when traversing rough roads, hence the interest in the front mount. Plus there is no freaking bumper, just frame mounted a few inches from back of trailer. This would necessitate some modifications to my rack, ie, bike comes in contact with trailer.
So anyone have any idea if low or higher front mount would work better?  Mark, what setup do you have? Thanks

No way to make it so the bike rides inside the camper? Kinda like the toy hauler stuff?
No way in hell would I rig something up wwaayy back there... You'd be watching some other driving hazard ahead and not see your bike flopping ass over tea kettle behind you.. I'd be in tears.. Honestly..

I have a front hitch on my 07 Chevy DM. I put my CT110 on, I also have a KDX220, it weighs 220lbs. They block the headlights so no night driving. The front hitch sits low so I put a adapter to raise it up, if you don’t the rack will scrape going up a steep driveway.

That is exactly what I saw when my bike fell off my rack at 60 MPH. Luckily it was my bicycle and not one of my Enduros. But your description brought it all back like it was yesterday. I still own and ride that bicycle. People see all the scuffs, scrapes, and gouges, and they say "oh that must've hurt".

I prefer to put the bike on the back of my camper.

That's nice!
But your setup is different than trying to put a bike on the back of a pull behind camper. I looked into it for my pull behind camper and was warned against it. They are built so skimpy. I saw a homemade bike rack that was put in front of the trailer above the A frame portion at the hitch. It looked pretty good. I believe they relocated the battery box to make room for the bike rack.
EDIT: Oops. I just noticed that you said "5th wheel" so that eliminates my suggestion.
