What type of electrical connector? was created by Gr8uncleal

Does anyone know the EXACT type/name of the terminal used in the block connector shown in the foreground of the attached photo?

I have heard Molex bandied around as a possible, but this appears to be used now as a generic term.

I have had some near misses on terminals that I've bought that I thought would fit, but nothing that is correct yet.

Outer diameter of the females is about 3mm. The 2.36mm ones used for computers are just a bit too small.

Also, does anyone know of a supplier, either in the US or UK (I couldn't see them on Vintage Connections' website)?

Thanks.

Hello again Alan.  I think thats a YAZAKI fitting and look no further than Rex's speedshop for both plastic fittings and the individual metal connectors to fit classic Yamaha wiring looms.  Iv'e provided a link below.  Hope this helps. Andy

Yambits also has some oddball electric connectors that are an exact fit to the originals...  I've used them to make Powerdynamo systems "plug and play" with the stock harness.

Thanks Andy.

The Yazaki female terminals are not round (more angular) and don't fit through the rear of the original block.

I emailed Rex's a couple of days ago, but they are currently "too busy" to help out.

Thanks Mark.

If they did have them, then they are currently out of stock.

Thanks.

I need them for a UK spec RD250E (CDI).

Saying that, they're the same as fitted to the left switchgear on the DT360A that you posted on (although they might have been removed from yours!!

).

If I knew exactly what they are called, I could search for some here in the UK - I'm building up a stash of connectors bought, but that don't fit!
